Your Branding Photographic Experience

A Preparation Guide

Welcome to Noran Shine Studio — we're honored to collaborate with you.

This experience is designed for entrepreneurs, professionals, and creatives who are ready to be seen with clarity and confidence. Branding photography here is not about quick updates or generic images — it's about creating purposeful visuals that reflect who you are, what you do, and how you want to show up in the world.

Whether you're refining your personal brand, launching something new, or stepping into a more visible chapter of your career, this experience is thoughtfully built around you.

Our role is to guide the process — strategically and creatively — so you can relax, feel supported, and walk away with imagery that works beautifully across platforms and feels unmistakably like you.

Preparing for Your Experience

Clarify Your Brand Focus

Before your session, take a moment to reflect on what you want your portraits to communicate.

  • How do you want to be perceived at first glance?
  • What qualities define your professional presence?
  • What should someone feel when they see your images?

These answers don't need to be perfectly articulated — they simply help us shape imagery that aligns with your goals, audience, and message.

Define the Purpose

Before your session, take a few minutes to think about where and how these images will be used.

  • Website or personal brand
  • LinkedIn and professional profiles
  • Marketing materials or press features
  • Team or leadership visibility

You don't need a full brand strategy — just clarity on what you want the images to do for you. We'll take care of translating that into strong, effective visuals.

What to Wear

Your wardrobe plays an important role in how your brand is perceived.

We recommend bringing 2–4 distinct outfit options, depending on the scope of your session. We'll discuss styling in detail during your preparation call, but these guidelines will help you plan confidently.

Start with a polished, professional look:

  • A well-fitted suit or blazer with tailored trousers
  • A button-down shirt or fine knit
  • Clean lines, quality fabrics, and solid, flattering colors
  • Proper fit is essential — tailoring makes a noticeable difference

Then add variety as needed:

  • A more relaxed professional look (open collar, no jacket)
  • Industry-appropriate casual (structured sweater or clean jacket)
  • A look that reflects your personality or field
  • Layers you can add or remove for versatility (jacket, vest, rolled sleeves)

Avoid loud patterns, busy textures, and large logos unless they are essential to your brand.

Shoes matter. Bring clean, well-maintained footwear that complements each outfit.

Need Help Deciding?

If you're unsure about any outfits, I'm here to help!

Text me photos of your options — or even better, lay them out so I can see how the colors and textures play together. If you've created a Pinterest board or moodboard, I'd love to see it! It helps me align your styling with your vision and prepare accordingly.

Accessories & Personal Details

Small details can elevate your images and make them feel personal.

Bring watches, belts, and any accessories that complement your outfits. You're also welcome to bring items that represent your brand or daily work — a laptop, notebook, tools of your trade, or objects tied to your business or passions.

These elements help create imagery that feels authentic, intentional, and uniquely yours.

Grooming & Preparation

Well-groomed details photograph beautifully.

  • Schedule any haircuts 5–7 days before your session to allow it to settle naturally
  • If you have facial hair, trim or shape it a day or two before
  • Moisturize your face and hands in the days leading up to your session
  • Clean, trimmed nails are important — hands often appear in professional portraits
  • Get adequate sleep the nights before to look refreshed and energized

The Day Before Your Session

  • Review and pack all outfits and accessories
  • Steam or iron clothing and remove any tags
  • Polish your shoes if needed
  • Stay hydrated and get a good night's rest
  • Avoid alcohol and excess sodium to minimize puffiness
  • Allow yourself a calm, unhurried evening

The Day of Your Session

Arrive Ready to Be Taken Care Of

We've planned the day so everything flows smoothly.

Please arrive on time with clean, styled hair and a freshly shaved or groomed face. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that's easy to change out of.

We'll guide you through the entire session — including posture, expression, and positioning — so nothing feels awkward or overly posed.

You'll also see images on screen as we go, which helps most clients relax quickly and feel confident about the results.

Snacks and beverages are provided.

Time Commitment

Please plan to spend up to two hours at the studio. This includes:

  • Settling in and preparation
  • Your branding session
  • A same-day presentation of your images
  • A guided design and ordering consultation

The experience is intentionally unhurried and fully supported.

Same-Day Viewing & Ordering

Your image presentation and selection appointment takes place right after your session.

Together, we'll review your portraits and select the images that best represent your brand. From there, we'll discuss how you plan to use them — for web, social media, marketing, or printed display — and place your order.

Orders are finalized and paid for the same day.
